FAQs about Kindergarten
What should I do about my child's birthday? We will celebrate your child's birthday at school by singing Happy Birthday and having your child wear a special birthday crown. Although this is not expected, if you would like to send in something to help us celebrate please send in only non-food items. Suggestions for birthdays include festive pencils, donating a book to the library or donating a playground toy to the class. We do ask that invitations to birthday parties are not put in children's mailboxes unless the whole class is invited.
What if my child has a summer birthday? I like to celebrate those birthdays as close to the summer as possible. I will pick a day in May or June to celebrate all of the summer birthdays.
What do I do if I know my child will be absent? PLEASE notify the office. Leave a message or write a note that is to be sent to the main office before your child's scheduled absence. Teachers are not required to prepare work that will be missed ahead of time, but I will work to ensure that your child makes up important work when he/she returns.
